About Jeff

Jeffery S. Hughes grew up in the foothills of northern Georgia, in a small town called Chatsworth — close enough to the Appalachian Mountains that the quiet of the country felt like a given and far enough from the city that leaving felt like the only adventure worth having.
He left for the military at eighteen, training as a Military Police officer at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri before assignment to Fort Campbell, Kentucky — home of the 101st Airborne Division, the Screaming Eagles. It was there he first understood what it meant to be part of something larger than yourself. The 101st's motto, Rendezvous with Destiny, has followed him ever since.
After leaving the service in 2011, Jeff built a career in information technology and cybersecurity — a field that rewards precision, pattern recognition, and the ability to see what others miss. All three turned out to be useful for writing historical fiction.
Echoes of Paris is his debut novel, the first in a planned ten-book series he has been building for years. The story grew from a simple question: what did ordinary people do in the years between two world wars, when the first catastrophe had barely healed and the second was already gathering?
Jeff lives in Georgia with his wife Amy, two daughters, and two dogs who believe they are also daughters.
